First of all, here’s wishing everyone a special Memorial Day, a chance to reflect on all of those that sacrificed their lives for us.
For my weekly blog post today I was in the process of writing a very serious one about why many company acquisitions fail. However, one of my current Kellogg students, Federica Sidoti, sent me a wonderful email with a beautiful little story based on my values-based leadership class and the four principles of self reflection, balance, true self confidence, and genuine humility. I asked her if I could share the story, “Leo and the Magic Within,” in my blog, and she graciously agreed. So we’ll save the serious post about acquisitions for another day 🙂
Here’s the note from Federica:
Harry, I got inspired by your teachings and wanted to convey some concepts to my children. I started thinking of animals and imagined a storyline. I also taught myself Adobe Fresco (first time I am doing ‘digital’ drawings) and Illustrator, and put together a tiny book. So here it is!
Leonardo and Giorgio approved it so far 🙂
Have a great Memorial Day weekend!
Wow!! Federica is a doctor, a Kellogg student, a mother, an artist, and an author!!! 👍😁🥰 I hope you enjoy the story as much as I did!
This was a great post! Thank you so much for sharing Professor.
If you don’t mind my asking what is a metric you have used to confirm proof of the implementation of these values within your institution? For examples, as a CEO, Manager, Leader, Teacher, Etc, what can I measure to confirm those within my team are also being self reflective?
