This was a very big weekend for the Kraemer family! On Friday evening at 11:11 PM, Everett Thomas Clark entered the world at Evanston Hospital.

It is hard for me to describe the joy of being a grandparent. As the father of five children, I did not have an opinion that being a grandparent was a big deal. How wrong I was. There is something about your children having children, which is truly amazing and inspiring.
Here are a few pictures of Suzie and Casey, and one of grandpa.
One question everyone is asking is how two-year-old Harrison is relating to the fact that he now has a little brother named Everett. As you can see, so far so good. He’s even figured out a way to say his name (at least partially) 😂😂
To make sure that Harrison was also having a good time with all the events, we took him to see part of The Little Mermaid musical at Regina Dominican high school. He had such a great time that I think he forgot that he’s now a big brother😂
OK, one more thought. All of my students know that one of my favorite expressions is, “I’m surprised you’re surprised.” I try to get people to realize that if you are self-reflective and self-aware, you can predict most things will happen, but you just don’t know when. People that are not self-reflective seem to always be surprised, which leads me to question quietly to myself, “Why are you surprised?”
Diane sent me a picture of Harrison that I think I can now use in my classes.

Congratulations to you, Julie and the entire Kraemer clan. What a joy! God bless you all!
